A HINT OF PALAZZO
RESIDENTIAL
This villa was once the home of Danish sculptor and horsewoman Helen Schou, who lived and worked here for almost her entire life. Today she remains one of the most memorable sculptors in Danish art history.

Along with the current owner, a known figure in the Danish fashion industry, we established a close collaboration on this project, with the purpose of preserving the traces of art history, while at the same time adding modernism.

The vegetation outside the house has been sculpted into ornamental shapes, as living forms that guide you through the garden.

There is a continuous reference to the old Italian Palazzo style in this home. Along with the owner, we designed and built the kitchen in granite and burnt iron. The floor-to-ceiling windows invite natural light in, highlighting the structure and surfaces of the kitchen.

A MODERN TRANSITION
In between the kitchen and the original villa, we built a vitrine cabinet in burnt iron. We designed it with classical details to mark the villa's transition from leaving the modern kitchen, to entering the more classical interior style.
